Meet the Cully Board Members
Kathy Fuerstenau
Chair
Kathy and her husband have lived in the Cully neighborhood since 1979, and she raised two sons while working part-time. She has always enjoyed volunteering in her community and was a Lakeside Little League board member, a PTA board member and “Volunteer of the Year” at her sons’ school 3 times. In December 2005, Kathy was honored with a Certificate of Appreciation at the Portland Bureau of Police Chief's Forum Awards ceremony. It has been very rewarding for her to make a positive difference, especially the last 6 years as the CAN chairwoman. Kathy truly believes that one person can make a difference and that a group of dedicated people can effect a positive change.
Dustin Micheletti
Vice Chair
Dustin Micheletti is a relative newcomer to the Cully neighborhood, having purchased a home in the area's new
LEED-ND-certified
Helensview
Heights development in late 2008. He moved from the Bay Area to
Portland in early 2005, immediately falling in love with the city’s passion for community building and public planning. He is currently serving on the Home Owners Association board for his burgeoning micro-neighborhood, and on April 13, 2010, was elected to his first term as the CAN Vice Chair. Dustin enjoys the arts, exploring the outdoors, and spending time with his family. He hopes to earn a Master’s of Urban and Regional Planning at
Portland
State
University in the near future. Dustin believes in strong communities and looks forward to investing his energy in making Cully an increasingly great neighborhood.
Bonnie Gregg
Secretary
Bonnie Gregg has lived in the area for 45 years. It is here that she and her husband Gene raised their two sons, Scott and Michael. Bonnie is retired from the Portland School District where she was employed as a Special Projects Secretary for 22 years. Now a widow, Bonnie is active in Luther Memorial Church and the Northeast Community Center. She assumed her duties as secretary for the Cully Association of Neighbors in April of 2007.
Bob Granger
Treasurer
Bob’s helped farmers grow rice in West Africa, Hewlett Packard sell their first laser printer and the government of Nepal promote e-commerce. For over 30 years he’s brought business basics, systems thinking and cultural sensitivity to the service of private and public sector organization around the world. He retired from Hewlett-Packard Company in 2001 to focus his energy on social entrepreneurship and community development. He and Julie have lived in the Cully neighborhood since 2006. Their daughter and family (two grandchildren) live across the street; their son and family live in Spain. Bob has been engaged with civic, education and human services organizations in Portland since 1995. He is a sports fan, avid reader, advocate for social and environmental sustainability and webfooted Oregon native. He studies engineering at the University of Portland and business and the University of Oregon.

Rich Gunderson
Member at Large
Rich is retired after working 25 years with City of Portland Parks and Recreation. He enjoys most sports as a spectator and am currently an avid golfer. Rich has lived in the Cully neighborhood for 6 years, and was born and raised in this fantastic city. He is serving on the Board to help get Thomas Cully Park planned and developed, and to save as much of Colwood Golf Course as a park.
Laura Young
Member at Large
Laura Young is a native Portlander who has been living in Cully with her husband and three children since 2004. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and a Master’s in Business Administration from
Portland
State
University. Laura has more than a decade of professional experience in the field of transportation logistics and in recent years Laura has been engaged in consulting activities in the arenas of business development and logistics management with entrepreneurs and small to medium size businesses and currently runs the day-to-day operations for Wilkinson Engineering, an emerging consulting engineering firm specializing in LEED certified design, seismic retrofits, historical preservation and non-traditional structures. Laura is looking forward to supporting CAN’s ongoing success with community livability initiatives and transportation safety projects.
Janis Stange

Michael Crupper
Member at Large
Michael Crupper is a naturopathic physician and acupuncturist practicing in the Hollywood neighborhood and is also an adjunct faculty teacher at
Western
States
Chiropractic
College. He lives with his wife Mia in the Cully Neighborhood where they strive to have a beautiful and plentiful garden. Michael is an active outdoor enthusiast and enjoys spending his free time in the great outdoors. He is also a member and volunteer for several organizations including Ducks Unlimited where he is currently attempting to establish a
Portland metropolitan branch.
Michael has been active in the Cully Neighborhood since buying his home in 2005. He is proud of his efforts to establish strong relationships with his neighbors for both community and safety. As a member at large of the Cully Association of Neighbors, Michael makes himself available to the community to be aware of any crime and safety issues that are of concern to the neighborhood.
