Colwood property stays green!
The battle for Colwood golf course property is officially over and we are victorius! The Colwood Partnership did not file an appeal of the Land Use Board of Appeals (LUBA) decision, so the property will remain zoned as Open Space.
Many Thanks to everyone efforts to keep Colwood Green.
We encourage you to thank the Council members again for their action in the Fall. Their decision has been soundly endorsed by LUBA. And it doesn't hurt to underscore your continued support for keeping Colwood zoned open space and sheparding toward open public use.
Let's all think positive on this and hope of that the Colwood Partnership will now come back to the table and work with the Trust for Public Land and the city to secure the property as a public asset.
But, of course, we also need to keep a watchful eye...just in case.
