Portland Community Reinvestment Initiatives, an affordable housing developer, notified Cully Association of Neighbors of their intent to remove a large tree at 5119 NE Campaign St. PCRI is in the permitting process for a cottage cluster on the site. During the construction process, PCRI will remove a 37” diameter fir tree from the property. See the site plan below for more details.

When a property owner removes a tree 36” or greater in diameter, City of Portland requires the owner to post a notice on the site and to notify the neighborhood association and district coalition for the site. The property owner must also pay a mitigation fee to Portland’s Tree Planting and Preservation Fund.

The tree removal notification is a courtesy. This tree removal is not subject to appeals or a public comment process.

The property owner may remove the tree 45 days after posting a notice and notifying the neighborhood association and district coalition. The 45-day waiting period for 5119 NE Campaign St ends on March 2, 2026.
