Aircraft Maintenance Hangar Development Near Cully

Port of Portland notified Cully Association of Neighbors of a proposed development in the PDX Airport Area of Portland, which is just outside of Cully. The Port plans to develop a new aircraft maintenance facility. The project site doesn’t currently have a street address, but the site is near 7430 Airtrans Way.

The Port’s Community Advisory Committee will host a public information meeting on Nov 5, 2025. This project is not subject to a land use review process with a public input period. The public meeting is a chance for the Port to share information about the project and allow community members to ask questions, rather than a land use review hearing.

The project includes a new 185,000-square-foot hangar with 60,000 square feet of office space for maintenance operations and 125,000 square feet dedicated to the maintenance facility itself. An additional 225,000 square feet of the site will be used for aircraft parking. Construction is anticipated to be complete by the end of 2027.

Driving Directions: Follow signs to park in the long-term parking garage, hold onto your parking

ticket for validation. From there, follow signs for Port Offices in the northeast corner of

the garage, farthest from the terminal. Take the parking garage elevator (Orange with a

Beaver symbol) to the first-floor lobby. Then, turn the corner and take the elevator to

the 8th floor. The Chinook conference room is located left of the elevator lobby, at the

end of the hall.

MAX Directions: Follow directions to the baggage claim level of the airport (do not take the

escalators to the ticketing level). Go to the north end of the terminal to baggage claim 9.

Note the overhead sign directions for Port Offices and take the escalator down to the

North Tunnel. Proceed down the tunnel to the very end and turn right to the automatic

doors directly ahead. The elevators there will take you to the Port Offices on the eighth

floor. The Chinook conference room is located left of the elevator lobby, at the end of

the hall.
